The Wolf You Feed.

This image was shot on a recent photo-walk which a couple of my friends and I went on, recently. I love this image because of the sense of timing that's involved in getting this image. The shutter speed on this image was 1/2000th of a second, and I could barely get only three such images, before which the sun just disappeared to nowhere. Gopi was hesitating to pose for this portrait that I was desperate to take because I knew that the lighting was a proper split lighting pattern that rarely occurs naturally when sunlight is sharply blocked by an obstacle.

Anyways, I think that just like this picture, each one of us is blessed with the most precious thing in the universe. The gift which decides the fate of mankind. The gift that when used properly, can make the impossible, physically exist. Choice. The choice to feed the thoughts that occur in our brain. The choice to cultivate the way our brain thinks. The choice to listen to the voice of either the void or the soul.
I want to leave you with this saying, "Watch your thoughts for they become words, watch your words for they become actions, watch your actions for they become habits, watch your habits for they become your character, watch your character for it becomes your destiny." What we think, we are. So my greatest wish for you is that the next time you realise that things are going south on you, try reflecting on your inner self. Question and test yourself. What are you thinking? Why are you thinking about it? What do you hope to achieve through those thoughts? Who do you intend to help through those thoughts and ideas?
This also reminds me of the old story of there being two wolves inside all of us, constantly fighting. A good one, which is full of hope, happiness, energy and empathy, and another full of jealousy, hatred, fear and insecurity, and the wolf you feed, wins.
